The Institute of Software Technologies (IST) meets Kenya's needs for IT training to create IT specialists. Institute of Software Technologies Limited (IST) was initially a department under Software Technologies Limited (STL) so from is humble beginnings, it has come a long way and now even has 20 professional training labs and seats for up to 200 students a time with class sizes restricted to 15 to ensure quality learning.

Institute of Software Technologies is today recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (MOHEST), as a TVET institute. It is also recognized by National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) as a key training institute.

Today, it is the only centre offering RedHat courses and is ICDL accredited as well. Its has gained a reputation for meeting international level competition in the delivery of its training.
